JULY 2024


Over  a 3 year trial period conducted by MEECE delivered by CATAPULT Offshore Renewable Energy, in collaboration with Swansea University and with £50k of funding from the Welsh Government, the patented Tidal Anchor has successfully completed beach and sea trials which demonstrate the omni-directional, environmentally friendly capabilities of its unique design. The purpose of the project was to undertake a range of tests of the Tidal Anchor to validate the technology and show potential manufacturers and investors that it is better than other anchors at the same weight class.


In both beach and sea trials, the Tidal Anchor comprehensively out performed the popular Danforth, CQR and Bruce designs. With its low profile and assured setting capabilities when deployed, the Tidal Anchor is also ideal for easy stowage as an emergency anchor.

TIDAL ANCHORS  are delighted to have been nominated by Huw Bryer of Business Wales to attend a business reception at the VOLVO OCEAN RACE 2018 on the 6th June 2018 and 8th June 2018 which will be hosted by Welsh Government Officials at a bespoke built waterside "Wales" pavilion overlooking all the action at Cardiff Bay.
